Windows 10: No internet connection after 10130 update

Check if you have any Firewall installed. Uninstall it. In my case Uninstalling AVG and Mcfee didn't help. But wifi started working when I uninstalled ZoneAlarm firewall.

 

I also cannot connect to the internet via WiFi or Ethernet. Both show as limited connectivity. I have installed the latest drivers to both, as well as rebooted the router. Reset the IP, uninstalled Avast, turned off the built in firewall etc. I do not have a third party firewall, just the built ins. Anyone have a clue? This is my first build of 10 that I have tried.

 

Found out the error on my side, due to a driver installed long ago, ANOD driver for DLink that caused issues with Windows being able to create a link with my router

 

hi guys. sorry to interrupt. I have my internet connected but I am only able to use Microsoft Edge and nothing else. Anyone knows what the problem might be?

 

Solved (sorta). Using Bitdefender AV with Firewall. I could ping out to the world but nothing worked at the HTTP level using Firefox. I UNINSTALLED both completely. ReBoot. This then Solved a problem I was having with Win 10 only seeing one monitor and subsequent hardware Network (monitor) adapter issue in the Device Manager panel. Also fixed internet access when using IE (aka EDGE), But still cannot access internet with Firefox. Sorry to say I did not try to access internet with EDGE prior to the uninstall of the AV/Firewall. Any helpful hints out there about the Firefox issue?

 

This morning Neither my LAN nor Wlan networks worked, only limited connectivity.
first thing i tried:

1) Open CMD as Admin.

2) Type SFC /SCANNOW , enter.

after completion my networks worked again

 

Can't uninstall ESET Smart Security 8 ...no internet connection...Catch 22.!!!

Update...must have bypassed the Internet, and installed successfully.

Ethernet now working… rebooting- Reinstalling ESS.

Ethernet NOT working… - UN-nstalling ESS....again!!!

This problem is so frustrating. I uninstalled my antivirus (Avast) and reinstalled it, but I still get this issue. I only have a temporary fix, when your internet connection is down go to your Ethernet properties and disable or enable (doesn't matter) IPv6 and your internet connection is back again! Unfortunately the problem comes back when you check for update again. PLEASE MICROSOFT FIX THIS!!!!!!!

 

I have a problem... I installed windows 10 on my pc and somehow lost connection. I went to that IP adress place and fixed it somehow. But yesterday i downloaded steam and lost connection once again. The problem is now i can't fix it. I tried deinstalling antivirus but nothing. Another thing is i have internet on my laptop and smartphone. Can anybody help me???

 

My first internet troubleshooting post..... ever. Know that I am not an adept computer user. I often am not able to troubleshoot my own issues. This was quite an easy fix after spending 6-8 hours trying everything. The Microsoft Help Desk was no use.

While attempting to connect to Windows 10 from 8.1 successfully, I got the yellow triangle with limited connectivity. I came to this thread and followed some of the suggestions. I reverted back to 8.1, uninstalled my antivirus, then re-upgraded back to windows 10. I tried upgrading my Network drivers - no dice. Somewhere in the middle of this whole process, I spent hours talking to Microsoft Help Desk, performing updates, and refreshing my system.... absolutely useless.

Followed the first suggestion on this website and it worked!!! I understand it is directed at correcting a Windows 8 connectivity issue, but it worked.

Hi, if you still have problem with the internet connection, please go to "roll back driver" option in "device manager" area and you will solve the issue. It worked for me and I am sure it will work for you! All the best!

i have re loaded the video card drivers (i have 2; intel + nvidia from the asus site) and that worked
my internet connection is stable now

 

Sadly, I spoke too soon with my post of several months ago, "The Fix Is In!" I should have waited a little longer. The problem recurred.

Rolling back the Broadcom Netlink Gigabit Ethernet driver did work until that option vanished with the last Windows 10 update. Plus, even when it did work, Windows would always update the driver back to the faulty "most current" driver. One solution might be to set Windows updates to manual and micromanage every update, which is a hassle. I would deal with it if I could still roll back the driver, but as I said, it's no longer possible. Even when I downloaded the old driver for repeated use, Windows had a stored copy of the current driver and wouldn't let me uninstall the current and install the older driver.

I went through much more testing that included going back and forth between Windows 10 and Windows 7. I never permanently solved the problem under Windows 10 (which I otherwise like), and I'm not sure if I can reinstall Windows 7 using my old back-up that was made just before I upgraded to Windows 10. For now, I have given up my LAN connection and use just my wireless, since both the wireless adapter and my Internet can handle 100 Mbps. It compromises performance now and again, but I'm out of ideas.

 

I have been having intermittent trouble with my net work too and tried the nesh fixes and reinstalled drivers to no avail.

i spent the most of a productive day reading googling solutions uninstall antivirus but what fixed it was fixing my IP address i was previously using dhcp and even thou i did a release and a renew the static IP fixed it straight away .
