  1. “No Internet, secured” Issue - please help!

    Hi,

Over the past 2 days, I’ve been having an ongoing issue where I cannot connect to any of my home WiFis for some reason.

I have tried everything on the internet, youtube, troubleshooters and these forums but nothing seems to be working; for example, I have uninstalled my drivers, restarted my modem, turned off internet security and firewall, restarted my modem multiple times, did a lot of those restart codes from command prompt, did a network and power reset, and a lot more. When I ping my IP address, I get 4 packets back, but when I try going on the internet, it says that it cannot connect to the DNS server.

Interestingly enough, I can connect to my phone’s hotspot and my other devices at home can connect to the Wifi. It’s just my laptop that is the issue. It’s a HP with Windows 10 for reference

I would try to bring an IT technician to my house but sadly that’s not possible due to the coronavirus restrictions - if there is anyone on here who knows how to fix this, I am desperate for your help! Especially with online learning, I cannot access some of my essential services.

    Thank you.

    :)

    Microsoft Edge TLS Security

After trying everything (not a lot of steps) listed in the Microsoft Edge support site, I did a wider search and found this very simple youtube video that fixed it immediately:

For those who prefer not to click links the steps are simple:

    1. Click in the Cortana search bar next to the Win 10 Start button

    2. Type internet options

    3. Select internet options (control panel) from the list

    4. Click on the advanced tab

    5. Scroll down to the security section

    6. Make sure the following are all clicked:
    Use SSL 3.0
    Use TLS 1.0
    Use TLS 1.1
    Use TLS 1.2

    7. Click apply

    8. Refresh the page that was giving the error and it should now connect.

Hope this helps, it was a 30 second fix after hours of pounding my head against the error with the Support site suggestions.
