Windows 10: No Jack information available!!

Hi.


I have encountered an issue today for the first time in at least a year, which is cool but needs fixing never the less. I am an intermediate mix engineer with a home studio set-up and use my PC mostly for this purpose. I use an external interface made by Presonus. It has been very reliable up to now. However I attempted to make my first live stream on you tube this morning only to discover, there is no signal from my Mic/Inst line in on either input of my interface, when plugging in a microphone. It still works fine with an Instrument, Guitar e.t.c. but no signal with a Mic. I tried both condenser and dynamic with and without phantom power, also changed leads 4 times, but nothing. This is strange because it was working 2 weeks ago, so something recent has changed. I looked at properties in settings for Mic/Inst line input and there is a message "Jack Information", followed by, "There is no Jack information". I am not certain but I am fairly sure it was not there before. Also in events there is a message about something needed to complete installing please see attached screenshots. I am assuming this might be the issue but have no idea how to solve it. In the past i have been careless with 3rd party software and I am now super careful as it takes me a full day to re-format windows and re install all my Music Programmes, so I am certain I have done nothing to cause this. Also I ran SFC and Scan Disk which both came back clean. Any ideas would be gratefully received. My Son is in a very good Rock/Metal Band who are currently without work because of isolation so we were going to do some live acoustic sets on you tube, to keep him sane.

Hi,

I suggest you to make sure that the headphone that you are using are set as default in the computer. Follow these steps to check this:

*Right click on the volume icon and select “Playback devices”.

*Now, right click on empty space and select, “Show disconnected devices” and “Show disabled devices”.

*Select “headphone” and click on “Properties” and make sure that the headphone is enabled & set as default.

*Reconnect your headphones and check if issue is resolved.

My headphones are workig fine. The software "voicemeeter" has no jack information available in sound settings

 

Windows 10 and Magic Jack compatibility problem

• What and all steps have you tried?
• Do you face the same voice issue when you are using other apps?

If it is the issue with Magic Jack, you need to contact Magic Jack support.
