Windows 10: No longer able to log in as OWNER

    I am setting up some computers for a non-profit.I just got my own computer to begin this process, and had been logging in as OWNER, an administrator. This was the way my computer was set up when I got it. It did not have an email or password assigned to it.I added another account for the non-profit and successfully set it up as a business account.I then had two accounts and could switch accounts from the START menu. I have been doing this for more than a week.For some reason the OWNER account is not appearing as a login option; I only have the business account I set up for the non-profit.

    Hi Bree, thanks for stepping up to address this issue.
    As far as I know my External Drive has only been used on my PC.

    I could try to implement your suggestion and take Ownership of those Folders.
    The "Take Ownership" link is present in my right click menu, but I'm currently logged in with my Microsoft account, so perhaps it would be better if I went Properties --> Security --> Advanced & set the Owner to Administrators, no?!

    Although my mind is bugged with a new question now.
    If I change the Owner & later on I have to restore a backup (Acronis on a CD) won't I encounter problems then?

  3. Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


    I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

    Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
    We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
    I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
    Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

    1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
    2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
    3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.
    Step 2:
    I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
    3. Select add someone else on this PC.
    4. Enter a user name and hit next.
    5. Click on Finish.
    6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
    Step 3:
    It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

    Owner Can't log in as login says not connected to internet and it is. This occurred after updated on September 15. (

    The owner of a Windows 10 machine was updated on September 15 is no longer able to log in. ONce forgot password is tried it says unable as there is no internet connection; however, another person on the computer with a different log in can. What do we
    do. The owner (my daughter) can not access her files anymore.
