Windows 10: No matter what I do, Realtek Audio Drivers do not successfully install on my pc.

Context: I am asking this question from the PC that I built a few weeks ago. I have yet to successfully install Realtek Audio on my system where I am able to get audio from my PC. The only source of audio I have now is NVIDIA High Definition Audio from my Spectre M24 monitor. Right after I booted up my PC for the first time, I tried...

• installing Realtek directly from my motherboard's manufacturer. After I did that, I restarted my computer andit's not showing up on my Device Manager
• 'Add legacy hardware' option at the top of the Device Manager, to which I am occasionally met with a BSOD or Blue Screen of Death. I say occasionally because depending on the Realtek version I try installing, it either BSODs or I restart successfully and go into Device Manager to see that Realtek Audio DOES show up but has an exclamation mark next to it the caution symbol. I click on it to find out it can't start. After that I try fixing that Code 10 won't start error and I come full circle back to where I started, which is back to Realtek Audio not showing up in Device Manager.

I know that there are a good amount of forums and videos that try to solve the missing Realtek Audio drivers and such, but I've tried every single one and it does not work for me. So please, respond to my question and help me solve this issue as soon as possible.


The reason why I want to use Realtek Audio and not my monitor's built in audio is that I can't seem to use my microphone from my headset Razer Kraken. It works just fine on other devices with Realtek my laptop but does not work on my PC, even if I plug it in into any of the audio plugs on the back of the I/O or my monitor itself.


Here are a list of my computer components:

Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M D3SH https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450M-DS3H-rev-10/support#support-dl-driver

• I have tried downloading Realtek Audio Driver ver. 1903 6.0.8688.1 from my motherboard's manufacturer website but like I said, it doesn't work
• ALC887 codec

Monitor: Spectre M24 NVIDIA High Definition Audio

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit version 1903


Even with hidden devices on, Realtek does not show up.

I had the realtek error when using the installer, so I did these step and It Worked

1.Go Open up device manager
2. Go under sound,video, and game controllers
3. Find Realtek High Definition Audio
4. Right click and hit update driver
5. Browse my computer for driver software
6. Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
7. Click Have Disk and hit browse
8. Click on the Realtek HD Audio mod folder and look for win64
9. Click on the HDXRT4 and click ok,
10. Click Next and Yes
After it is done, restart the PC

You should be good then and also make sure before doing these steps that you have driver enforcement disabled.

Everyone that post ids, need just do these steps and you will be good. I kinda tired of keep on uploading the inf. file

10. Click Next and Yes
additional if you want dts audio and others, install it now before next step.
After it is done, restart the PC

You should be good then and also make sure before doing these steps that you have driver enforcement disabled.
