There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper

In a nutshell:

While trying to share my Wi-Fi to an Ethernet adapter, I receive an error that says no more endpoints are available from the endpoint mapper.

In detail:

My desktop upstairs is using a wireless pci adapter to get WiFi from my router downstairs. Recently, I bought a raspberry pi that only uses Ethernet to connect to the internet. Wanting to work on my new mini machine upstairs with a router available, I want
my desktop to share its WiFi to the motherboard Ethernet adapter, for the raspberry pi.

I hunted around the internet for a while, and found the way to do it is like so:

1. Go to Control panel -> Network and Internet -> Network and sharing center -> Wi-Fi Properties

2. Go to sharing tab, select ethernet and check allow





However, when I click OK, I get this error:





I have tried to turn off and on the firewall and start/stop the endpoint service--to no avail. What can I do to fix this? Thanks in advance.

 

Windows 7 error "there are no more endpoints available..."

On Windows 7, I am receiving the error "there are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper" when I attempt to format a dvd. How can I resolve this?

 

Windows 10 Upgrade Failure - Endpoint Mapper Entry Could Not Be Created

Over the years, this laptop (Acer Aspire AMD Phenom 2.2GHZ) had many issues with updating Windows. Now I cannot use the Get Windows 10 app. I am getting the following error message:

c:\Users\Marie\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\TemporaryInternetFiles\ContentIE5\31CH020C\Windows10Ugrade9194.exe The endpoint mapper entry could not be created.

I have seen this or similar messages in the past. There are a few other Support issues about the Endpoint Mapper errors, nut none ever seem to be resolved.

Help me please. I am not very tech savvy.
