Windows 10: No Office 2007 extended support beyond October 2017 deadline

You just reminded me I got a year's subscription with my Tablet last year, expires next month so guess now that I've found I could give it a try. It's good for 1 PC or Mac and 1 Tablet.

 

I can use Office 365 and 2016 both on and offline

 

The install is the same for Office 2016 and Office 365. You can even use the trial install file just when you do the install there is an option the small print to select Enter a Key which is Office 365. If you to the default it sets you up for Office 365 which doesn't use a key.

 

When I install Office 2016, and launch any of the programs for the first time, I get prompted to setup a subscription for office 365. There is however another option to just enter a product code. Which is the option I use as I have keys via my MSDN subscription.

Working with MS Office and Windows since 1994, let me share my experiance with you:
As long as you have to be complient with company rules and IT support- there is no way around stayng with MS Office and Outlook in its latest version 2016- cost are carried by the company in most of the cases anyway.
But since my retirement in 2006 i moved from Outlook to Mozilla Thunderbird and I never regretted the move.
Simple to move it from PC to PC- and able to host many many GB of mails and attachements.

For compatibility with all other office users, friends and club/NGO activities, I stayed with rest of Office 2007 (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Access) which is despite the end-of-extended-support date reached, working fine under Win 10 version 1709.
