Windows 10: No Option to Connect to Internet

So I've had this issue for almost a year now with off and on internet access. Sometimes I boot up my computer and it will give me the option to connect to the internet but most of the time I will have the no internet icon and no listed options for connectivity. Each time I run the troubleshooter it says there is likely a router issue but doing anything with the router changes nothing. The troubleshooter will often say that the wifi adapter is disabled, and I have tried many potential solutions to resolve that problem. Simply enabling it doesn't work, it will say it is enabled initially and onc

Only Chrome can connect to the Internet.

To resolve the particular error messages that you're having, we suggest you perform the steps below to disable proxy server:

• Click the Tools button in Internet Explorer, then click Internet Options.
• Go to the Connections tab, then click LAN settings.
• Uncheck the box which says Use a Proxy Server for your LAN, then click
  OK.
