Windows 10: No Right Click EJECT Context Menu For YSB Flash Drive

This morning I had a right click/Eject context menu for my USB flash drives. Then I used a driver updater programme to update the usb drivers. There was a problem with the new drivers so I reverted back to the old ones. The problem is now in My PC, the right click EJECT menu is missing. The safely eject menu continues to work in the task bar. Is there any way I can get the right click/EJECT menu back for my usb flash drives? The problem may be because the computer is treating flash drives the same way as USB mass storage drives, which I know don't have an Eject option.Your advice would be appr

No Eject context option on external HDD

Hi,

I have a WD My passport External harddive (F connected to windows server 2008 r2 standard. For some reason, it is displayed as harddisk drive instead of removable storage.

When i right click drive F, the context menu doesn't display the Eject option like DVD Drive E:

May i know how to get the eject option back?

 

Eject USB drive using the explorer

When I right click a drive in the This PC view which is associated with an SD card I have the option in the context menu to eject it. If it is associated with a USB flash drive this option doesn't come up. In order to eject my flash drive I have to click the icon in the tray bar for safely removing hardware and eject media. Why is that not possible using the explorer by right clicking the drive?

Try this:

• Press and hold on an empty space of the bottom panel, to open context menu
• In that context menu click on "Show all notification icons" to enable that
• After that you'll see a little ^ pictogram in the notifications area, like in a desktop mode, so click on it to open and youll find same notification icon for flash drive as in a desktop mode, so you can eject it same way.
