Windows 10: No sound in Windows 10

I updated Windows awhile ago, and suddenly my audio stopped working. I ran the audio troubleshoot, it said there was no detectable problem, but still no sound. I've tried uninstalling the audio driver, reinstalling it, following articles online through both Microsoft and independent websites, switching from the Realtek driver to the Windows default, restoring to a previous update, having tech savvy friends take a look, and absolutely nothing has worked. I can connect to a Bluetooth speaker and that works fine, but plugging in headphones into the headphone jack doesn't do anything, and the speakers don't produce any audio by themselves. I'm very irritated about the problem and just want it to be resolved.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue
