  1. No Sound Randomly

I started my PC today and went to watch some YouTube. No sound. I check if everything is plugged in, make sure the output is set to my headphones, updated the drivers, tried a pair of earbuds, power cycled many times, tried different ports on the computer, I've tried different apps like spotify and still no go.

If I open the volume mixer from the speaker icon on the bottom right of the desktop, no applications are listed. Could this be part of the problem?

Before I just go ahead and reinstalled Windows 10 entirely, does anyone have some suggestions or has had this problem occur before? I literally just started my PC this morning and came on to see I have no sound.

    Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue No Sound Randomly :p

    Sound Quality

One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.

Windows 10 sound issue: sound volume randomly increases!

    Hi,

Thank you for writing us back.

I would suggest you to go through the below steps:

Steps: Try to uninstall the driver:

    a. Press Windows key+X.

    b. Click on Device Manager.

    c. From the list, expand the sound driver.

    d. Right click on the sound driver and click on uninstall and do not check the box and click on ok.

    e. Reboot the computer, it will automatically take the sound driver and then again go to sound driver using above steps and right click on it and select update to update the driver and again reboot the computer and check if it helps.

I hope this helps. Please post back with the status of the issue and we will be glad to assist you further.
