Windows 10: No speaker option in sound playback

I have been unable to get sound through my speakers. My monitor does not have sound so I rely on the speakers for this. I have no speaker option in the sound playback window. The only option there is IntelR Display Audio. It also says jack information, which is HDMI Digital Jack and that's no good for me as my monitor has no speakers.


Is there a way of adding the speaker option so I can use them again.

There are many things that need to be considered before connecting your Surface device to a TV or a monitor. For further help, visit this
link. To enable the sound playback in Windows 10, follow these steps:

• Using Cortana, type sound and then hit the Enter key.
• Under the Playback tab, right-click on Speakers and then choose Enable.
• Click Apply and then Click OK.

To disable the sound playback, right-click on Speakers and then choose Disable.

Disable beep sound when plugging/unplugging laptop charger

I would suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps.

Disable the PC Speakers and check if it helps.

• Right click on Sound Icon in the task bar and go to Playback devices.
  
• Select Speaker and click on properties.
  
• Go to Levels tab, and mute (or you can reduce it) PC Speaker and check if it helps.
  

 

No sound & speakers missing in Playback Devices

Unfortunately there is not even an arrow there.
