Windows 10: No splash screen at daily startup

I assume it must be part of my symptoms, if, in spite of having reversed the boot order and having bootable media in the laptop, it still boots up in the usual way.

Furthermore, I have a USB DVD drive connected to my laptop, which shows up in the Device Manager, but not in the BIOS, same thing when I connect a USB stick.

The first thing I thought about was looking for a newer BIOS version, at the moment I have American Megatrends P09ABE, 04/07/2013 on a Samsung NP350V5C motherboard, but neither the Samsung nor the AMI websites are very helpful nor user friendly.

Especially the Device encryption support bothers me, that seems to be somewhat BIOS related.

However it's not apparent that any BIOS firmware is listed. There's something called a Chipset driver....

I think it's time you asked someone to check your hardware, or made enquiries of Samsung and their forum as to your boot issues.

Well, so far I have at least managed to get the latest Intel Chipset for my machine.
The BIOS will probably be a work of patience and carrying on looking.

At least I have something, the version is 10.1.1.42 dated 17/1/2017.

Has to be far too slow, I assume.

 

You can cross-check with HWinfo, CPU-Z for example (free)

 

They both give around 798. something Mb.
