Windows 10: No USB Virtual Printer Ports

Discus and support No USB Virtual Printer Ports in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; When manually installing a printer, I cannot select a USB port because none exist.     No USB Virtual Printer Ports


    When manually installing a printer, I cannot select a USB port because none exist. How do I get the virtual printer ports for USB001, USB002, USB003, etc. to appear in the list?


    I have read through many replies and I do NOT need to know how to manually add a printer. Creating a new port does nothing but give a name to something that doesn't exist.


    Also, I do NOT need information on updating my driver because I am using the generic/text only driver within Windows.


    If the ports don't appear the the port list, what do I have to do so that they will?

    Windows 10, HP Desktop: No USB001 Virtual port in drop-down list of printer ports

    After upgrading to Win 10 from Win 7 Pro, Brother MFC 8500 stopped working.

    Printer works with Surface Pro 3 that has USB ports listed in printer port drop down menu.

    Tried everything I've read so far on the interwebz.

    It appears to be specific to my machine.

    What to do?
