Windows 10: No way to login at boot (sometimes)

The Wifey has an issue that comes and goes. It's such an almost NOT issue that I haven't bothered to mention it in these parts. It only happens sometimes, and as y'all know it never happens when I try it. lol

Basically she boots her Asus laptop and the screen that's supposed to show the time and date and login in background wallpaper fails. Only the wallpaper arrives, nothing else. Hit any key and nothing happens. She resorts to CTRL ALT DEL and that 'frees' it and she can login. It's a decent workaround, of course, but does anyone know this issue?

The net (annoyingly) suggests a refresh re-install in place thing. But little else. SFC's come back fine. Should I be trying a DISM anyway? Even if SFC is reporting nothing?

Any steak tips? TIA

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to select the appropriate language in login screen at the bottom right corner and check if it helps.

Steps 2: Use On-screen keyboard in the login screen to login and check if it helps.

Resolving login issues

If your device doesn't run in safe mode, the next step that we suggest is to run a repair using a boot media. Here are the steps:
