Windows 10: No WPA3 Password Identifier field in the Wi-Fi manager

Hey,

The latest WPA3SAE Dragonfly standard defines Password Identifiers as a way to tell the access point AP which password is being used, this allows for a single SSID to support multiple passwords, but when I tried to connect to WPA3 AP I was asked only for the password.

So my question is where I can find the "Password Identifier" field in order to specify to the AP which password I am using ?

Password identifiers like a username are passed in the SAE exchange

It allow for groups of users or a single user to use a password, all on a single SSID

Provides for authorization treatment– VLAN, ACLs, etc– for authenticated users

WPA3 security continues to support the market through two distinct modes of operation: WPA3-Personal and WPA3-Enterprise. Key capabilities of WPA3 include:

WPA3-Personal: more resilient, password-based authentication even when users choose passwords that fall short of typical complexity recommendations. WPA3 leverages Simultaneous Authentication of Equals (SAE), a secure key establishment protocol between devices, to provide stronger protections for users against password guessing attempts by third parties.

Wi-Fi Alliance introduced enhancements and new features earlier this year for Wi-Fi Protected Access®, the essential family of Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ security technologies, to ensure WPA2 maintains strong security protections as the wireless landscape evolves. WPA2 continues to be mandatory for all Wi-Fi CERTIFIED devices. As market adoption of WPA3 grows, the new generation of Wi-Fi security will become required for all Wi-Fi CERTIFIED devices. New Wi-Fi attack cracks WPA2 passwords with ease

A new way to compromise the WPA/WPA2 security protocols has been accidentally discovered by a researcher investigating the new WPA3 standard.

The attack technique can be used to compromise WPA/WPA2-secured routers and crack Wi-Fi passwords which have Pairwise Master Key Identifiers (PMKID) features enabled.

Security researcher and developer of the Hashcat password cracking tool Jens "Atom" Steube made the discovery and shared the findings on the Hashcat forum earlier this month.

At the time, Steube was investigating ways to attack the new WPA3 security standard. Announced in January by industry body the Wi-Fi Alliance, WPA3 is the latest refresh of the Wi-Fi standard.

WPA3 aims to enhance user protection, especially when it comes to open Wi-Fi networks and hotspots commonly found in public spaces, bars, and coffee shops. The new standard will utilize individualized data encryption to scramble connections -- as well as new protections against brute-force attempts to crack passwords.
