Windows 10: Non-Functioning Windows 10 Search Bar

The search bar in windows 10 is not currently working for me. When I click on the search bar, it does not let me type anything, and the window that appears above the search bar after clicking on it is blank most of the time, occasionally it will flash the normal apps. The search bar forcibly closes itself a few seconds after being opened. I've been scouring through forums and YouTube videos, but have yet to find a solution. So far I've tried:

• Restarting

• Using Control panel troubleshoot for search and indexing finds issues on the PC listed as permission issues, says it fixed them, no effect on search bar

• Rebuilding the index

• Using admin command line: sfc /scannow and restart scannow found corrupt files and says it fixed them, but did not have any effect on search bar

• Using admin command line: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth, followed by DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and restart did not show any issues after performing Scanhealth

Is there any other known solution for this issue? Most YouTube videos that I find related to search bar issues do not show this specific error.

HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards)

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.

 

Search Bar/Cortana

From the description, I understand that you are still receiving the pop up notifications, despite having disabled the search functionality in windows 10.

Steps to disable the Search Bar

• Right click on the task bar.
• Select the "Search" option.
• Select "Disable."

However, if the above steps don't work out, perform the below suggested steps and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Open a CMD window started as Administrator.

Repair corruption: Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth.

Run this command next: Sfc /scannow

Now run these two commands:

PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Non-Functional Search Bar

After I update Windows 10 Professional, the search bar on the left bottom of my screen will no longer work and the icon window above it is blank. If I roll back the latest update, it works again. I have tried many of the online suggestions to no avail.
The problem started recently.
