Windows 10: norton 360 renewal 2016

I'm getting ready to renew my Norton 360 anti-virus for 2016,how will the Norton work with windows 10?

Norton or Windows Defender?

I have a Norton 360 Premier subscription, which is due for renewal soon. Is Windows Defender equivalent and provides same protection than Norton? In that case would be happy to save some money and not renewing with Norton.

 

Internet Explorer in Windows 10 has been very slow loading in the past couple of weeks. Any comments?

Before I answer the questions, #'s 1-12, that you have posted, I wanted to let you know that IE is opening up within 5 - 10 seconds this morning. It hasn't opened this fast in the past three weeks. Have no idea why it is performing so much faster this morning.

7. Do not recall if either Norton or McAfee had a free trial pre-installed.

9. Yes, Adobe Flash Player v20.0.0.306 is installed and is running properly per test.

10. I was seeing the slow loading only on IE11. Never use Edge.

11. Firefox 43.0.4 is installed but I am not using it.

12. I do not use any "registry cleaners"

 

Windows 10 compatibility with Norton products

It will work, except with Edge, but Norton slows down computer quite a bit. *Huh

 

Really ??? I've been running Nortons on 2 computers for years, I have not seen any slow down. *really

 

That really depends on the computer, but as for laptops, it is an obvious burden.
Last time I speed up a laptop, by simply uninstalling Norton, it took 30 minutes.

 

Did you use the Norton uninstall tool to remove Nortons?? Takes me about 3 mins ....if I'm doing a clean install, or just wanting to refresh my Nortons.

 

Some computers can not handle the heat and since the OP has 1,5 GHz, Norton is the last AV I would choose.
Then again, if it is working for him, it is fine, except Edge of course, but I always keep performance in mind.

 

Well guess lap tops are quite different, then. I've never cared for them myself. Personal choice. But I can run Nortons on any Desktop computer I've ever owned. One computer is 9 years old, came with Vista, now runs Windows 10 Pro with Norton 360 Premier with no problems, or slow downs. *Smile
