Windows 10: Norton and Windows 10?

Years ago I got a new computer with XP Pro loaded on it. About maybe 6mo later my sister got me Norton Anti Virus program as a bday gift. I loaded it up and it seemed to work fine for awhile.


Then my computer started acting up and after reading reviews of Norton problems I found many others were having problems with Norton not playing nice with XP.


I ended up deleting Norton and my problems seemed to go away. I know that's a generic statement and I can't recall the problems I had. Too many years have passed. I have Win 7 now and my question is now since Win 7 is no longer supported I have to upgrade to Win 10. Any word on if Norton cleaned up the problems and if anybody has heard if Norton plays nice with Win 10?

Norton Security not loading with Windows 10 - Why?

I would recommend you follow the below given steps and check if it fixes the issue.

I would suggest you to restart the Norton services from the services list, and set the Norton service to automatic.

Follow these steps to run Norton services:

Method 1:

Follow these steps to run Norton services

a. Press Windows key + R

b. In the run windows, type services.msc

c. It will open services windows

d. select norton services from the list of services

e. double click on it

f. At the top of the window, Make sure the service status is started and startup type is
automatic.

g.Click apply and OK.

If this does not fix the issue, try uninstalling and reinstalling Norton software and check if it helps.

If the above steps do not help , I would suggest you to contact Norton for further help.

Windows 10 and Norton

Sorry! The latest version of Norton Security 22.5.2 is compatible with Windows 10. I would suggest installing the latest version of Norton Security using the steps here:
www.norton.com/install. Sorry, I am not sure of the best way to restore the OS to the previous version. You can try the steps mentioned here: How to recover a previous build(s) or your original version of Windows using the Recovery or Rollback feature - Revised July 22nd, 2018.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
