Windows 10: Not able to install 64 bit windows 10 (32 bit installs correctly)

Hi,

I have recently built a computer. My system configuration is

CPU - Ryzen 3 3100
Motherboard - Asus A320M-K (I updated it to latest bios version 5603)
GPU - Zotac 1660 super AMP
RAM - G-Skill Ripjaws 2 * 8 GB 3200MHz
HDD - WD 1 TB 7200 rpm
PSU - Corsair CV450

In bios, I am able to see all my components. I have disabled fast boot and secure boot. CSM is enabled.

I am trying to install window 10 from a USB (created using media creation tool as well as Rufus). It boots into the USB, loader completes half circle and then it goes back to black screen and everything starts again (video added). I tried installing 32-bit windows 10, and it is getting installed correctly. Same thing happens with Ubuntu as well. I tried Ubuntu LTS versions 20, 18, 16 (all 64-bits), I got AMD-vi connection timed out exception (screenshot added). I was able to install 32 bit Ubuntu 16.

My bios setting when installing was: disabled secure boot and fast boot. Tried CSM with all possible settings (enabled, disabled, auto).

Also, I disconnected hdd from system, and I am able to see windows setup. But not able to proceed as HDD is missing. Am I missing some SATA related setting in BIOS?

Can anyone please help me in identifying issue?

Riven (32 bit installation) on Windows 10 64 bit

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

I will definitely assist you.

If you install Windows 32 bit app on 64 bit, you will be able to run 32 bits apps without any problem, because 64 bits can emulate 32 bits. Windows 32 bit can emulate only 32 bit. So, I would suggest you to contact game support team for further assistance
they may have solution for this issue.

Windows 10 Upgrade 32-bit to 64-bit

So, Windows 10 Upgrade is being rolled out worldwide, and I have 'reserved' my upgrade.

Currently my computer is running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. I'm planning to 'upgrade' it to Windows 10 64-bit (via fresh install, of course).

After reading many references, these will be the steps I'll do:

1. Let the "Get Windows 10" app upgrade my OS to Windows 10 32-bit
   
2. Note the activation key
   
3. Download the Installation Media for Windows 10, but choosing 64-bit instead
   
4. Perform a clean install
   
5. Reactivate using the activation key in Step #2
   

(Of course I'll backup my data first.)

However, I still have some questions:

1. On Windows 7, the activation key does not differ between 32- or 64-bit versions. Is it still so with Windows 10?
   
2. Will I be able to download a different architecture on Step #3?
   
3. Is there anything I need to prepare beforehand?

How do I install IE 32 bit and/or switch from 64 bit to 32 bit?

Windows 10: Internet Explorer

• You need to have Windows 10 64-bit(x64) to use this feature
• To check:
  • Click on Windows Key
  • Click on Settings
  • Click on System
  • On left panel click on About
  • On right panel check system type:
    • System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
      • That means you have Windows 10 64-bit
    • System Type: 32-bit operating system, x86-based processor
      • That means you have Windows 10 32-bit
• Internet Explorer
  • 32-bit(x86):
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe
  • 64-bit(x64):
    • C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe

Note:

• You cannot switch between Windows 10 32-bit to 64-bit. you need to re-install Windows 10 64 bit.
• To download Windows 10 64-bit:
  Microsoft - "Windows 10 - Download tool now"
