    Not able to shutdown or restart


    Hi

    Every time when i trying to shutdown or restart PC it says like some program is preventing you from shutdown or restart,
    and for some application chrome and visual studio even after closing them,its still running in the task manager i have tried ending them via command prompt taskkill /F /IM "chrome.exe" /T but still no luck.

    i have tried the command sfc /scannow but stucks at 2 %
    also tried DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth stuck at 4.9 %

    Any help would be appreciated?

    My pc takes for ever to shut down when i restart

    Suggest cleaning up your startup list .There may be many services / Apps you can remove on startup which is not needed on boot or during shutdown.
    Before you shutdown the Pc check what is running in Task Manager as a program or service in not killing the process on shutdown

    Would suggest cleaning up running apps and services -Autoruns, StartupMonitor,HighjackThis,
    Malware Scan - Malwarebytes,ADWcleaner, Combofix

    Not able to shutdown or restart

    Windows 10 shutdown/restart issue

    Since last week, my windows is not able to shutdown/restart/hibernate or sleep. Every time I select any of these options, the screen goes black and nothing happens. The keyboard still reacts.I updated to the Windows 10 version 1004 yesterday, still no
    change. I have also tried disabling fast startup and other commonly suggested steps available on the internet. Please help
