Windows 10: Not enough space to do a factory reset?

I bought a laptop off of a friend and it still needed to be restored back to factory. Its an HP stream 14 . whe I try to restore it , I get a message saying not enough space. I went a deleted everything I possibly could including the old account manually. it needed updated but windows wont update because theres not enough space. I just need to do a factory reset but it wont let me. how do I fix this? I also ran the disk cleanup, it wont delete the temp files. ive tried the command prompt to delete the temp files and that wont work either.

Factory reset... now missing 40+ GB of hard drive space?


Good evening everyone!

So, I just got finished doing a nice fresh factory reset as Windows did some updates and my computer run slower than molasses in January.

After it was done, I had some 60-70 (out of 118) GB of free space on my SSD.

Short story shorter I had to do it again.

Now I have only 26 GB of free space.

Can anyone make any suggestions please?

Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it
