Not getting full res on desktop replacement setup

I'm trying to use Windows 10 laptops as desktop replacements. My NEC monitor has a native resolution of 2560 x 1440. The highest res I can display is 1920 x 1080. I've tried both a 1920 x 1080 laptop (Lenovo 330) and an HP Envy with a 4K display. One complication, the NEC doesn't have HDMI. I use its DisplayPort. The DisplayPort cable runs to an HDMI converter which has a wire connecting to a laptop's HDMI port. Any ideas on how I can get the monitor's full resolution?

    Thank you

    :)

    Desktop Icons Keep Getting Re-arranged

    Hi,

This might be caused by changes made on your device after the update. If icons are getting re-arranged every time you boot, then try the steps below:

    • Right-click on any blank space on your desktop.
    • Hover over View.
    • Select the icon size. Set it to Small first, refresh desktop then set it to
      Medium.
    • Check Align icons to grid.

Once done, refresh desktop and see if the icons will get re-arranged.

Should you need further assistance, don't hesitate to get back to us.

    Sculpt ergonomic desktop - Replacement

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forum.

    • What is the version of Windows installed?

I suggest you to get in touch with the Microsoft Hardware
    Support
to know about the replacement criteria. Meanwhile, you may also go through the
Warranty Limit Manual given under Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop.

    Regards,

    AMD FX OC'ers Club

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
