Not necessarily waiting for 20H2, anymore

Some may find this wee anecdote interesting. When 20H2 was released Oct 20 if I recall it wasn't showing via WU soon enough to suit me ergo, I didn't wait for that. Of course, that means or meant I'd never know how long I would have waited. Anyway, I have a laptop I hardly ever use & though, "Hey, I should update that thing". Obviously, it had been a while. It was on 20H1 and there were heaps of updates for both via WU & Store. Once they were all in & done, immediately, WU had 20H2 and it's working on it, now.

I mention this, also, because there seems to be a lot of Folks still waiting, and, certainly, many who have it, already. MS did say that the pace of the roll-out would increase. Where I was waiting for it at the onset, now, there is no wait, at all. Presuming one is up to date

    Cheers,
    Drew

No good at waiting for 20H2

20H2 started to roll out October 20, 2020.

Even though I had (some) 20H2 features unlocked, already, I didn’t feel like / couldn’t be bothered wondering, checking and waiting for it to show via WU, so, I used MCT and now, have

    Edition Windows 10 Pro

    Version 20H2

    Installed on ‎21-‎Oct-‎2020

    OS build 19042.572

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.31.0

And, NOW, Edge IS, actually, imbedded (with 20H2).

Uninstall button is not live (as it was); it IS live for Dev & Canary.

    Also, saved the .iso

I swear there is a noticeable performance 'nudge', too.

    Cheers,

    Drew

I doubt it is a glitch. I suspect it was designed that way.

    20H2 and Firewire/Audio issues

I have a MOTU Ultralike MK3 which I have connected through Firewire on my desktop.

    My specs:

    • ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 Motherboard
    • AMD 3800X
    • 32 Gb DDR4
    • Vantec PCIe Firewire interface with Ti chipset

Before my upgrade to 20H2 - my playback was quite stable but since this upgrade, I'm getting a bunch of weird playback glitches. That is not even under load. I just play a file in JRMC with the ASIO interface and I get multiple drop-outs glitches. The playback
definitely stops for 1 sec or so, there is no level showing up anymore during that second on my audio interface.

I changed two times already the firewire cable, and the firewire card as well.

My bios doesn't have a lot of options and I have the legacy 1394 driver installed which used to work quite nicely.

    Any suggestions?
