Windows 10: Not-so-bright themes

I need a theme that uses a window background color in the grey to light grey range.


I have done this since Windows 3.1, but now in Windows 10, this is no longer available, unless I switch to a high contrast theme, which turns off CSS styling on many web pages. n Microsoft Edge will not let me let page CSS override high contrast.


Is this even possible? It has become more of a problem since my concussion in November, and my new laptop is polarized the wrong way to wear my polarized sunglasses while I'm working.

Brightness Control not working in Windows 10

Hi Ella,

To adjust the brightness, see the steps below:

• Go back to Power Options, and tick on the High performance.
• See if you can adjust the brightness.

If this not work, we highly suggest that you create an Administrator account, and re-do the steps above.

Win-10 themes keep changing

Thank you for providing the information.

• Did you try the steps suggested by Suvarna Govinda above, what was the result?

As I understand the issue, Themes in Windows doesn't have the options to change on its own. Only the Wallpapers in the themes can change as selected ( Picture, Solid color and Slide Show ).

I would suggest you to make us understand that if the Wallpapers are changing in Theme which you have selected.

Below are the steps you can check if it helps.

• Press Windows + I keys and select Personalization.
• Select Theme and select the Default theme.
• Select the Desktop Background below and select the Picture
  and save it and check.

Hi,

Some computers can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions.

To manually adjust the screen brightness, we suggest following these troubleshooting steps:

• Click Start, then select Settings.
• Choose System, then select Display.
• Under Brightness and color, move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness.
