  2. Alternate tiles on desktop and tablet mode start menus

    Hi,

I am a surface user. When in desktop mode, I don't want tiles on my start menu so I have unpinned them all and dragged the start menu all the way in to be one simple column. When in tablet mode however, I would like tiles on my start menu.

Currently when making changes to the desktop start menu, this seems to automatically make the same changes to the tablet view, and now it is completely blank. Is there any way I can have no tiles in desktop mode but tiles as normal on my start menu in tablet
    mode?

I feel this is also important for other people who may want to have more business-like apps pinned in desktop start, but games and social media in tablet start. Hope I've explained it ok.

  3. Windows 10 Desktop Tiles vs "Regular" Desktop

I am not sure what happened, but all of a sudden my PC (HP Spectre 360) has the Windows 10 "Tile View" when previously I had a desktop view (and start menu) like old windows versions. I cannot for the life of me recall how I got rid of the tiles. I have
tried the Windows Icon button and tab, shows my different apps I have up. I just want to get my desktop back to the old school Windows desktop, all my icons, start menu, and not this tile BS. I have tried going back and forth from tablet mode to standard mode
at sign-in, as well, restarting my laptop after each switch to no avail.

  4. Not view all the tiles on the Start menu in Desktop mode

Only way I know is to click each tile and remove it from the menu. Then, you can shrink the menu to the left to take up less space.

If I do this, when I will pass in Tablet mode, on the start screen, I'll have still all the tiles or I'll have an empty screen?
How do I avoid finding the empty Start screen when I will pass in Tablet mode?

    Thanks

    Bye
