Windows 10: Notepad

Since the latest upgrade to Windows 2021-11 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 11 for x64 KB5006363 when I use Notepad, it keeps quitting.I am used to keeping it open all day and storing temporary but important information on it that I will use later that day - notes to myself, links and so on. Now I can't because it keeps closing down on its own accord and I lose it all.How can I stop it?Thanks

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below:

• Open Task Manager. Here’s a tip: press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.
• Click on Startup tab.
• Select Notepad from the list and click on Disable.

I followed your suggestion but wasn't able to find Notepad listed on the startup. There are some listed as program but don't know which ones it could be.

 

Notepad on Windows 7\

Suggestion would be uninstall then new install on Win7. Maybe an older version would work better? A list, maybe Version 7?
