  1. Nov 2018 automatic update deletes RAID

My OS was on my RAID and functioning fine before this November 2018 update.

Windows loads into RAM, but cannot find desktop (because it cannot see the OS and the User account profile files).

This is maddening why Microsoft will FORCE an update that kills a system. Why can't you send out an "intelligent update" that checks to see current system setup so that it can detect the RAID an adjust installation settings?

I need a solution to this, NOW.

I'd rather have the option to Kill updates. If you can't stop forcing system destruction then I'll be forced to make changes you won't like. ( I run a business that has 50+ PCs and workstations and I will gladly change all Operating Systems to run Virtual Machines inside Linux and never again pay for another single user license of Office, Office 365, or Windows of any version.

P.S. If you want to know where your biggest problem is, I'll tell you... I have 1 PC that is 12+ yrs old running estimating software and it is as lightning fast as the day it was first installed. Why? Because it is NOT connected to any network. Your network-able "open architecture" has so many vulnerabilities that you are clogging up the systems. You might want to have Windows install a Virtual Machine on ALL PCs that runs ALL online and connective software. This will eliminate the need to constantly patch and clog up the base Operating System. Then once it the VM gets corrupted, the User can simply rebuild it from a "VM Profile".

    :)

    Resolution Suggestion:

    # To resolve this problem, make sure that BITS and the Automatic Updates service are started..

A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

    1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

    2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

    3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

    4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

    5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

    6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

    7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.
