  1. Nov.2018 Update deleted files and drivers - unable to run anything from start, takes 15+...

ASUS Laptop used by our office administrator to RDP into the accounting system ran an Update on Nov.15th, and when it completed it took forever to get a login screen. Logging in took even longer to to a desktop that is blank except for the recycle bin, after getting an error message "Location is not available" - "c:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable...". The Start icon is not usable. I can start Task Manager, and was eventually able to get a version of Explorer started, but only in attempt to add a toolbar to the desktop - it doesn't actually let me open a new window - "An attempt was made to reference a token that does not exist". All of the profiles now have blank desktops, including the ones in the Windows.old folder. It's also now unable to connect to the network or interenet - troubleshooter tells me "There might be a problem with the driver for the Wi-Fi adapter" but can't fix it. The audio device was unable to start, I was able to run the troubleshooter - "one or more audio service isn't running." - fixed.

There is no way to attempt a Recovery or even to attempt a reset.

How do I try to do a System Restore without being able to access the Control Panel or even the command prompt?

This is ridiculous. I'll try to do a factory reset from the ASUS hidden partition (if it still exists).

    Seriously Microsoft, WTF?

    :)

Windows 10 April 2018 Update(SCU) Partially Breaks MKV File Support?

I updated to main computer to the April 2018 Update, AKA Spring Creators Update, and it seems like they've taken a step backward with MKV file support. When I go into the properties of an MKV file on the Fall Creators Update, if I go to the details tab it gives me a bunch of detail about he media file, like resolution, framerate, audio information and bitrate. However, if I go into the same file's properties on the April 2018 Update, almost all of the information is blank, it only gives me a runtime and bitrate.

I really just want to confirm that this isn't just my computer and other's are experiencing the same thing.
