Windows 10: Nvidia 10 series gpu with non g sync monitor

I am curious. Has anyone have or had a build with a Nvidia gpu with non gsync monitor? I know there's v-sync and fast sync but haven't done enough research to know how it works exactly. Any experiences here? I thought of getting a lg ultrawide monitor with 75hz. Why am I going ultrawide over a gsync monitor is due to pricing.

Windows 10 G sync Issue in-game stutter

Hey guys.

I don't know if anyone else has this issue with g sync monitors. Let me explain.

So I have two monitors, one is g sync and the other isn't. When I play a game I would go from 100+ FPS to 1 (no joke) I fixed it by completely disabling my non g sync monitor but that's not an acceptable fix. So I had the idea of downgrading my Operating
System to Windows 8.1, I then enabled the non g sync monitor and games ran smooth.

I think it could be an issue with Windows 10? I was using the same NVIDIA driver for 8.1.

I need to switch to Windows 10 really, and it would be great if this could be resolved.

Thanks for the info, I already have a fan under the PC.

I was monitoring the temp, GPU max is 87' and CPU max is 95' with high speed fans under it.

The issue occurs even when the CPU at 65'c and GPU at 50'c when G-Sync was enabled.

 

If you like gaming I advise you getting a gaming monitor with at least 120Hz frequency. I also have a 75Hz monitor and some games (like cs:go) are barely playable even using fast sync (vsync with less latency).

PS- Many people will tell you to play with vsync disabled but I cannot stand the terrible screen tearing.

 

I have a gtx 1060 6gb. So I might try out 75hz ultrawide 1080 and see how it goes.

 

I have a 1080 TI and 3X 27" monitors. 2 are 60 Hz and 1 is 144Hz, none with G sync. I have gamed on all 3 at one time or another. I don't own a game that has shown screen tearing on any of them. I have read many articles on screen tearing and know it can happen. I have just never seen it.

 

Ah ok. I just bought the lg 34um69g-b and like the design. It's a 75hz through display port and I have 1060 6gb. The only games I know will run high fps are csgo and rocket league. The monitor was on sale for $330 so I bought it. But if it comes to it, I might have to return it for the 79g version, which is curved and have 144hz and $100 more. The gsync version is 700 and can't afford that.

Yeah I haven't seen any difference either
You can use game mode in 10 and probably see the same results but I haven't used it personally
The 2 basically reduce frame rates so not may people want that to happen *Smile

All mostly depends on what type of cable you use to the monitor and card
Display port is the best
DVI being okay
DVi port to VGA port not good
Cards all have dvi ports for the most part and so do monitors
If your monitor has a display port on it use it for best results *Smile

GSync monitors only have a display port on them it actually limits what one can connect to them it may also have another odd display port like a mini display port I haven't really looked at mine all that closely *Redface

Pretty much the same here, except that I have a 1060 6GB, and 3 24" monitors.

On some games I will get tearing around 90FPS, but otherwise it's just fine.
