Windows 10: Nvidia 430.64 WHQL driver released for Windows with fixes

Nvidia today released GeForce Game Ready WHQL 430.64 drivers for Windows 10, 8, 8.1 and 7 with a slew of bug fixes. Nvidia 430.64 driver update includes security fixes and as well as Game Ready status for a couple of new games.

Nvidia 430.64 also comes with a fix for a bug that caused higher CPU usage by NVDisplay.Container.exe. About a week ago, Nvidia fixed this critical bug with the 430.53 hotfix update and the company has also included the fix in the latest update. The fix for higher CPU usage isn’t the only change as Nvidia has packed a few more improvements into this driver.

As mentioned, GeForce Game Ready WHQL 430.64 drivers also add Game Ready status to three new titles – World War Z, Total War: Three Kingdoms and RAGE 2.

There are several bug fixes included in this driver update. For example, Nvidia has fixed an issue where users experienced flickering when the benchmark is launched. Another bug where the application crashes when the game is launched has been fixed.

The update includes a fix for Shadow of the Tomb Raider where the game freezes when launched in SLI mode. Crashing issues with Hitman 2 in DirectX 12 has been also addressed.

Nvidia is also fixing the desktop flickers when videos are played on the secondary monitor.

Nvidia is aware of a couple of problems with the driver on Windows 10 machines. In the changelog, Nvidia says that when 3D Settings page > Vertical Sync setting is set to Adaptive Sync, V-Sync works only at the native refresh rate after rebooting the system.

Sniper Elite 4 may crash when using R400+ drivers. You may also experience crashes in Forza Horizon 4 when driving through a specific tunnel. It also causes Tom Clancy’s The Division II to may crash when playing in DX12 mode and Grand Theft Auto V users may experience brief flicker/corruption when MSAA is used.

NVIDIA Releases Key WHQL-Signed Driver Update for Battlefield 3

NVIDIA released its latest set of WHQL-signed GeForce drivers, GeForce 285.58 WHQL for Windows XP, and GeForce 285.62 WHQL for Windows 7 and Vista. The new drivers bundle PhysX system software v9.11.06.21, and feature the following [very] important changes:

• NVIDIA recommended driver for Battlefield, as it contains several performance and compatibility enhancements for the final release of the game.
• NVIDIA recommended and enhanced driver for Batman: Arkham City and RAGE
• Fixes reports of occasional driver timeouts while browsing the web

At the outset this is the driver to have before you unpack your copy of Battlefield 3, Batman: Arkham City, and RAGE, three of the biggest titles of this fall.

NVIDIA GeForce 195.62 WHQL Drivers Released

Just over a day after releasing it in the beta form, NVIDIA released the WHQL-signed version of its GeForce 195.62 driver package. The package provides drivers and related software for GeForce GPUs and the ION chipset. Usually, a WHQL-signed driver that trails a beta release has a different version number and includes some minor changes. With this release however, there are no changes whatsoever, except of course the WHQL certification. As a quick recap, this is what is new with GeForce 195.62:

• Added GPU-acceleration for smoother online HD videos with the new Adobe Flash 10.1 beta.
• Added support for OpenCL 1.0 (Open Computing Language) for all GeForce 8-series and later GPUs.
• Added support for CUDA Toolkit 3.0 features and performance enhancements
• Added SLI and multi-GPU support for many top new gaming titles including Borderlands, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, FIFA Soccer 10, and more
• Includes numerous bug fixes

NVIDIA GeForce 190.62 WHQL Drivers Released

Exactly a month after releasing GeForce 190.38 drivers, NVIDIA published GeForce 190.62, complete with WHQL-certification. Supported products include the entire range of NVIDIA GPUs from GeForce 6 series and upwards, and NVIDIA ION, ION LE platforms. This release includes a few significant changes, apart from the numerous bug-fixes as described in the Release Notes documents (for Windows 7, Vista, and XP). Included are:

• Support for Microsoft's new DirectX GPU Computing API: DirectCompute, complete with WHQL-certification
• PhysX system software updated to version 9.09.0814 WHQL
• Optimizations for Batman: Arkham Asylum and Darkest of Days
