Windows 10: Nvidia Display drivers updated for W10 DP (possibly)

Discus and support Nvidia Display drivers updated for W10 DP (possibly) in Windows 10 Graphic Cards to solve the problem; MS does not write any drivers, manufacturers send them basic ones, just barely enough so they work. MS than hopefully checks them out and eventually... Discussion in 'Windows 10 Graphic Cards' started by MrNeeds, Oct 4, 2014.

I'm quite sure Microsoft doesn't write Nvidia drivers or any other 3rd party vendor drivers. I never stated they did.
Microsoft checks drivers from other venders to make sure they work well with Windows. I'm thankful they do.
I hope this makes my understanding much clearer to all.

I'm sure it's clear to you but if you look thru forums and posts, too many are expecting drivers directly from MS and from there drivers are either just basic or in most cases outdated. As for many that may be enough but I think MS should press manufacturers to update their drivers sent to MS more often and more complete. As most drivers are tightly connected to DirectX better cooperation between them would benefit everyone including MFs and MS.
That would stop proliferation of driver downloaders that often either charge for driver DL and install or just plain get wrong drivers. I'm sure that vast majority of computer users don't even know what a driver is, it would make many happy campers with both, windows and computer part MFs if better cooperation did exist and would be a good business move too.

WHQL Drivers are put through a series of testing designed by Microsoft supposedly meaning they will work with the OS they are designed for. Both Nvidia and AMD want to drive traffic to their site, so release drivers to Microsoft after they are no longer frequently downloaded from Their respected web sites. At least that's the way I understand the procedure.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to start some pissing contest.
One either decides to use WHQL drivers or one decides not to use them.

    I prefer to use them.
    This has some good information.

Downloading drivers from a source other than MS does not preclude them being WHQL, I'm sure they would be preferable but for the problem of them being outdated most of the time. Even with WHQL certification I have seen them not working properly.
My problem with drivers for my TV card, MS WHQL drivers are still wrong after several years and thru 3 1/2 Windows editions, W7, 8, 8.1 and now W 10. They do install but TV card still doesn't work with them. I have run in similar problems with other MS supplied drivers, WHQL or not. On the other hand, some MS supplied ones worked better than manufacturer's ones, go figure !!!

I used 344.11 drivers as the 344.16 would not install. Other than that, it installed ok and the screen res was automatically changed while it installed the drivers.
Running a resolution of 1920 - 1080 with no issues at all. *Smile

There are some users that use 3d vision. I would try it but I don't want to waste the money on the glasses, or have to get new monitors.
    New pc - new graphics - 3D?

  9. My system is not compatible with any of the gaming or 3d stuff so I'll have to look closer into the custom install options to not include all of the stuff it's not compatible with
Costs of free software downloads filling startup with crap :/
