Windows 10: NVIDIA driver crashes and recovers during both general use and video

That's if 347.88 was installed, windows has a tendency to replace 347.88 while its installing, check device manager driver number.

 

In that case disconnect from the Internet during the installation. Then connect again and run the show/hide tool to hide (block) the driver update.

 

Could be, didn't get the chance to check that. Got the 960, used DDU to completely remove and trace of NVIDIA software, installed the 960 and then the latest driver. Been 7 hours since, and so far so good, but I'll post again should it return.

 

Question on your Nvidia driver software. If its version 359.06 which is the latest for lots of the Nvidia cards. Have you run SFC /scannow after installing your new card and drivers?? Reason being, most people are finding out that after you update your Nvidia drivers to latest one, Windows will find corrupt files and Remove one of Nvidia's Opencl.dll files, and replace another one with a old windows opencl.dll driver. Just wondering if you have run into this problem, yet.

 

No, I did not run this or any other command. I've merely installed the driver and restarted the PC. I'm not gonna run that command as long as I don't encounter any problems, and even then... I've never heard of it before.

 

Ok was just asking, SFC is a Windows System File Checker it looks for corrupt system files in your Windows 10. Most people know about this command, and use it quite a lot. No problem was just asking. *Smile

 

update the drivers just released and check it out again *Smile

 

It's OK, didn't mean to sound harsh or anything, it's just that running Windows commands is not something I like doing unless I have to. *Smile
