Windows 10: NVIDIA GTx 960 - windows 10 1909 upgrade code 43

I recently updated an old PC to windows 10 1909 build.

with this update it updated the graphics drivers but they would not start.

Unfortunately as 1909 is a major update no rollback option was available.

I spent ages looking on the net for fixes. Finally i spoke to someone at NDIVIA who after some examination of my card told me it was fake :-

the tool they provided me with techpowerup identified the GPU GF116.

My card was supposed to be a GTX 960 GPU GM206 Driver Version:441.87 WHQL

but the GPU for my card identified as GF116 which is found in the GTX 550 and some other less expensive cards

with this information I downloaded the Drivers from NDIVIA for GTX 550 Version:391.35 WHQL

Fortunatly the system is now back up and running and i will ensure i keep a copy of the drivers. So if you have a fake NVIDIA card there is hope if you can find out the GPU and then look for the correct driver for that GPU.....

Nvidia Geforce GTX 960, and windows 10 code 43 failure

on the update as of august 15, 2015, my Nvidia GTX 960 graphic received a code 43 error message, and was turned off by windows 10, i did all of the troubleshooting that is stated as to fixing it, i even reinstalled the driver, still got the code 43 error,
the problem did not happen till the updates on the 15 were installed, i also uninstalled the windows 10, and re installed it, which corrected the problem, till i re installed the updates from the 15 of august 2015 again, then it failed with the same error
message, all of the actions on this site, i have tried all of the instructions here, to repair the problem, none of them worked, i even uninstalled the updates from that date of the 15, but that didn't fix the problem either, the only way i was able to fix
it, was to remove the windows 10, and re install it again, without the updates from the 15, the problem appears to be somewhere in the updates made on the 15 of august, i have now removed the windows 10, and gone back to windows 7 again, and all is working
once again well, if sometime in the future you are able to fix this issue, i will then re install the windows 10,

 

Win 10 GTX 960 Code 43

Fist thing off I had a boot error code 0xc000000f. So I did a clean install of Win 10. And that fixed it.

Now I have a new problem. I now have a code 43 on my video card. I've uninstalled drivers, and every program related to it. Then reinstall the latest, or even last years stable drivers 343.47. I even went through the hardware setting to turn off Device Installation
Settings.

I've looked and look on the net for fixes and solutions. No prevail. Nothing works.

My video card was working just fine two days ago without a clean install. I even updated my BIOS, Chipset. It can't be the Nvidia driver. It's got to be windows 10 automatically installing it's own video driver and rejecting the Nvidia drivers. Even without
the Nvidia Driver same error code.

From the sounds of things. The drivers might have ruined my Video Card and I may have to get a new one.

Any other ideas?

Has Microsoft actually fix this?
