Windows 10: NvSvc Windows App Error 0x000000001000ECF8 reference memory 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Hello,

I am John, my wife's IT Support, coming here for any guidance to prevent worsening problem.


The above message shows up seemingly randomly after my wife or I log on. Click OK to terminate is what she does to get on with what she uses her laptop, and what I do to find out more about it. While neither of us detected anything that can tell what that was about, there is a feeling of discomfort of a brewing problem.


By randomly, I mean we cannot find what pattern or what we did or did not do that the situation can be created at will.

If NvSvc.dll, it is a module of the Nvidia Driver Helper Service. If NvSvc.exe, it is the Nvidia network service. Either way, they are likely part of the same overall service component. For starters, update your Nvidia graphics drivers from the Nvidia site.
Alternatively, you may be able to disable the helper service altogether. To do this, run the Task Manager as administrator > go to Startup > and look for any service that matches this definition. If you see nothing there, then you see if there is a similar
option in the Nvidia display panel settings.
