October 2021 Win10 Update KB5006670 Breaks Printing to Older Print Servers

Since this patch breaks printing in our environment, I've resorted to uninstalling, and implementing the Show or Hide Updates Tool to eliminate the trouble.See this thread for details:https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/759880/kb5006670-network-printer-problems-again-this-month/I thought I'd put this in an official Microsoft message board to ask for guidance, other ideas, or a fix.

    :)

  2. Basic print server

Are you sure that Canon MP830 is even print server capable?
Also, you'll lose a lot of printer features by plugging it into a print server. It'll pretty much only be able to print.

Hid KB5006670 Because It Broke Network Printing Again This Month

Do you have a print server PC that all printing has to go through or what?

I have KB5006670 installed and print directly from PCs to network printers (no print server PC involved) and just confirmed printing still works fine for that case - which is of course different from the case of having a print server PC in the equation and the main purpose of this thread).

Just wanted to clarify this difference as the terms "networked printer" and "networked printing" aren't specific enough to identify printing via a print server vs no print server/direct PC-to-printer printing.

    Basic print server

So i have had it with vista networking and mac networking. I need a good cheap print server. Please nothing that will break the bank. Wireless is not necessary since it is going on a wireless router anyway.

    Let me have it.
