odd trouble with just switched screen to 1st plan but is not active

Odd trouble with recently switched screen which is in1st plan but it is not active : Since installed the last update [ on aug 13 2021 ] I have had an odd trouble as I "alt + tab" or click on the icons of the Taskbar to switch to another window. Usually I work with 2 instances of Microsoft Word opened , one of Excel , Photoshop , Chrome , etc , switching screens to copy images from Chrome or copy text from Word to paste them on Photoshop. As of the last update , it requires me to give aditional clicks to turn active a screen that has been switched to the 1st plan [ the screen is in1st plan but it is not active ]. On Photoshop it requires me 4 or 5 clicks to have it operational ; the Photoshop icon on the taskbar remains flickering if I dont click a couple of times onto Photoshop screen to turn it active.I noticed when I drag ( just drag , no click ) the mouse cursor onto the taskbar , the screen is in 1st plan becomes deselected at once. Anyone else having the same trouble ? Please some suggestions. Thank you. Windows 10 Pro 21H1 Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0

    :)

  2. Easy way to switch power plan in Windows 10

I've a 27" external monitor connected to my laptop and I use my laptop's screen as secondary. I've both screens turned on while I'm working. When I'm watching movies, I just keep my external monitor on and turn off the lid of the laptop.

I've created a power plan in Power Options called Laptop Screen off which basically does nothing when the lid is off, then I use my external monitor as my only screen.

When I'm working, I activate another power plan which supports high performance for programming and running virtual machines. This power plan puts the laptop to sleep when the lid is closed.

Anyways, I keep switching between these plans depending on what I'm doing. This was all easy in Windows 7/8.1 as I just clicked the battery icon and switched it.

I upgraded to Windows 10 last week and now I've to dig deeper to get there. There should be an easier way? Is there a small tool I can use to do what I'm doing in less no. of steps?

    1. Click battery icon in task-bar --> power and sleep settings

    Power plan?

Upon checking, it seems that there's nothing wrong with your system. It is usual that you have to double-click your mouse before your monitor wakes up.

For the meantime, we suggest changing the power plan by following the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + S.
    • Type in Power Settings.
    • On the pop-up window, choose Additional power settings.
    • Select High performance.

After changing the power plan, we suggest that you monitor the changes made and check if that will work for you.

Get back to us if you need further help.
