Windows 10: Office 2002 Update Fails... Windows Keeps Trying

Windows (10) keeps trying to install an an update to Microsoft Office (2002 SP 3.)
The update fails (probably because that version of Office is no longer supported. The support pages don't even load.)
But Windows keeps trying to install the failed update.
There are 3 MS Office updates that are shown as having been installed today and cannot be uninstalled.
Those 3 are:
1. Update for 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB967642)
2. Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007 Service Pack 3 (SP3)
3. Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB2881067) 32-Bit Edition
Selecting each of these items for uninstallation does nothing.
I HAVE turned off Windows updates for other Microsoft products.
"Update and Shutdown" & "Update and restart" are always shutdown options. They will never clear.
How do I tell Windows to give up on this update (that I don't even know how to identify.)

Update for Access 2002 (KB904018)

I keep getting an Update for Access 2002 (KB904018) trying and failing to install on my pC which has been updated to Windows 10 - I no longer have Access on the machine but it keeps trying to install and fails each time - how can I stop it?

I am running windows 10 (upgraded from 8.1) and for an extended time have been getting "Failed to Install" messages on two updates. I am content to turn these attempted updates off so the failures don't show but can find no way to do so. the updates are

Office XP Service Pack 3



Office XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) provides the latest updates to Microsoft Office XP. SP3 contains significant security enhancements, as well as stability and performance improvements.
This service pack applies to any level of Office XP. It contains all updates included in SP1 and SP2, in addition to updates released after SP2. SP3 applies to the following Office XP products: Word 2002, Excel 2002, Outlook 2002, PowerPoint 2002, Access
2002, FrontPage 2002, Publisher 2002, and Office XP Web Components.

I have the HP update turned off in the HP update app. I am running office 2002. When Office was originally installed back "in the day" it was on an XP Pro machine that had SP3 installed.

Can these attempted updates be turned off? or do I just continue to ignore them.

 

Close All Office Programs and windows. Go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution. Delete all the files in there. Then Go to Settings/Update and Security/Windows/Update/Update History. Look at the failed updates and write down the KB #. Go to Google and type Download and type the KB #. Manually install the update.

 

I deleted the files in the SoftwareDistribution folder. There were no failed updates listed in the Update History.
I rebooted. . . "Updates Were Installed."
Rebooted again... no problems.
