Windows 10: Office 2010 update failure

Discus and support Office 2010 update failure in AntiVirus, Firewalls and System Security to solve the problem; Ever since the last update (11/14/18) I have not been able to open up any office 2010 products.     Office 2010 update failure


    Ever since the last update (11/14/18) I have not been able to open up any office 2010 products. Have tried the virtual assistant and all recommended repairs and nothing works. I need someone to provide me a correct phone number for live person as the phone numbers listed in contact us have to many digits and do not work.


    Also you do not have 24/7 live chat as stated. Gives hours as 7 p.m to 4 am M-Th and Sundays. Closed on Friday and Saturday. Very annoying.


    Please respond ASAP as I need to access these files.

    No Office 2010 Updates Since June?


    I believe Office 2010 updates have been broken via Windows Update on two PC following upgrading them to v1803 in July. I've now removed and reinstalled Office 2010 as follows which worked and found all the missing updates.

    1. Uninstalled Office 2010 completely using the MS Office removal tool o15-ctrremove.diagcab
    2. Installed and activated Office 2010 from my original installation file
    3. Installed Office Service Pack 2 officesp2010-kb2687455-fullfile-x86-en-us.exe
    4. Searched and updated Office 2010 via Windows Update. This found and installed c. 50 updates since Service Pack 2.

    Mostly OEM computers come with MS office starter pack preinstalled, if you had MS office installed on the computer in the past I would suggest you to follow the steps under the section

    Failure to install Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime (KB3001652)

    Manually resetting Windows Update components didn't work for me either. Files were missing, or couldn't be found, and the OS wasn't responding to the list of commands (which was an 8 PAGE set of steps). I ended
    up contacting the "Help Desk". In the end, they had to remotely access my computer and fix the failed update.

    So, if you have this Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime (KB3001652) and it failed to install - it was my experience that it caused the failure of subsequent updates and installs for other programs - save yourself
    time and frustration and call contact the help desk.
