Office 2016 / Outlook VL version still OK on latest skippy

    Hi folks

Latest skippy (clean installed -- not via update from another version of Windows) with latest Office 2016 VL (Volume License) updates installed -- whole slew of updates--you need to set windows update to install updates from other Ms products --if you try and update from within the office app it will convert to Click2run and then you are royally hosed up with outlook 2016 !!!!!.

I installed my original iso (VL) - still not discontinued until replaced by Office 2019.

The MSDN old version though discontinued - will install and gets converted to click2run once you enter activation / product key. I tested that on another machine --waste of time if you need outlook 2016 though --stick to the VL version if you have one.

I don't think the VL version will be available though for much longer.

Classical outlook E-mail set up still works fine

Office 2016 Click2run versions -- OUTLOOK 2016 email setup HOPELESS as it still has those Automatic setup screens which fail as you can't do proper manual setup (unless you know the backdoor method via applet on control panel which will disappear soon anyway). !!

What's wrong with people at Ms --don't they actually test stuff before letting it out of the door -- if stuff says manual setup and I click it why does it not give standard screens like the VL product (which might soon be switched to click2run version).

    Cheers

    Check this site out...

After step 7, it tells you how to send to a group.

I'm thinking option one is going to be my only option. I'm fine with that as long as I can get Outlook to work with my ISP's pop3 e-mail. Last time I tried that with the new 2016 install I could not get it to work, no way no how. All the same settings that work with the ISO install?

EDIT: I should mention, for me as far as I know, neither of these options are a subscription. They use two different keys but they are perpetual one time activation licenses. I only ran the new download briefly though, as I could not get outlook to work. I bailed and went back to what works.

Group Email In Outlook 2016? Need Help!

    Hi guys,

I have a client with a problem in outlook 2016 with her not been able to do a group email. She said she could just click on the group button on version 2007 outlook and then (I guess) select the group of people you wish to send a email to. But in this new version she cant as the group button or selection is greyed out. I honestly have no clue as I don't use the program but was wondering if anyone on here has any idea?

I have uploaded a pic of a screen shot of her outlook 2016 with the greyed out group option.

If anyone has any clue or suggestions to give me to give to her that would be great *Smile Office 2016 / Outlook VL version still OK on latest skippy :)

    Thanks!
