Windows 10: Office 2019 Pro Plus? Any good?

I am running Office 2016 and want to try 2019 Pro Plus. Is this any better than 2016?

Most people are leaning towards O365 but I dont want to run a subscription based program.

Last year at Ignite, we announced Office 2019 – the next perpetual version of Office that includes apps (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and Skype for Business) and servers (including Exchange, SharePoint, and Skype for Business). Today we’re pleased to share the following updates:

• Office 2019 will ship in H2 of 2018. Previews of the new apps and servers will start shipping in the second quarter of 2018.
• Office 2019 apps will be supported on:
  • Any supported Windows 10 SAC release
  • Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2018
  • The next LTSC release of Windows Server
• The Office 2019 client apps will be released with Click-to-Run installation technology only. We will not provide MSI as a deployment methodology for Office 2019 clients. We will continue to provide MSI for Office Server products.

Not so sure about that (but...). And the "fact" still remains the Product Information says "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2019". It wouldn't say that if it was something else.

That said, to double check the version one can always click the about button and that will tell you what version the suite is...




I'll see what @Kari has to say since he's pretty good with Office issues. Perhaps he can shed some light.

@Try3, was going to suggest the OP uninstall Office 2019, but didn't want to chance it incase the OP didn't have their key, thus now leaving the OP without an Office suite.

I do not understand why all of yours says microsoft 365 and mine says "Microsoft office Professional Plus 2019". I have uninstalled these office apps using advanced uninstaller pro 13 and also using iobit uninstaller to make sure complete deletion of leftover files and then restarted twice and re-installed the microsoft 365 installer I downloaded from my Microsoft account but still it says office pro plus 2019. I think there is something on my computer from previous versions that is interfering with this version. Should I uninstall all microsoft products instead? Please see the below pictures.
