Office 365 Home not recognizing account

I've been subscribing to Office 365 Home for a few years now without any issues until today. When I go to the login page and try to login it says "We don't recognize the domain name" or to be more specific "sbcglobal.net isn't in our system". I keep an Excel worksheet of my Usernames & Passwords so I'm definitely logging in with the correct credentials. I don't remember when I last tried to login to Office 365 but I have in the past many times.

Just to verify the email I used to purchase Office 365 I can go to Word > Accounts to verify this email. I can also login to my Microsoft Account without any issues (although uses different email & password).

My 365 subscription is up in a couple of weeks so I need to get into my account to add a subscription card I've purchased.

I'm running Windows 10 version 1703 (64 Bit). I ran the Microsoft Support & Recovery Assistant for Office 365 but it couldn't get past it not recognizing my email.

    Any ideas?

    :)

  2. Office hub not recognising a 365 account

Is your Office 365 account a personal account - as in the Office 365 home subscription? If so, that won't work with the Office Hub.

The Office Hub will recognize those accounts that have been provided by a company, as in an enterprise account.

how to activate office 365 on nokia lumia 520

The 365 account sign in is for Office 365 business accounts, not home users.

    Hi mccoady

if you go to accounts.microsoft.com and login with your 365 id and password.

If when you go you are automatically logged in I would peek at what is under the heading Services and Subscriptions, just to be sure. Then log out and retry with Office 365 id.

Thanks and sorry I couldn't get back sooner had something come up. I seemed to finally sign in by using Edge & going through outlook.com.

I think the issue that's confusing me is having different email & passwords for my Microsoft account and Office 365 account. My Office 365 account uses an sbcglobal account and my Microsoft uses Outlook.com (via sbcglobal). When I first setup my Microsoft account several years ago I was using an sbcglobal email but since then have switched to an Outlook.com email. Microsoft account wouldn't let me directly change it from sbcglobal to Outlook.com so I'm using Outlook.com as an Alias.

Same situation with my Office 365 account set it up several years ago using sbcglobal which I no longer use.

Is there anyway to change my Office 365 account login to my Microsoft login without screwing everything up... it certainly would simplify things?

  6. Not sure of that. I would assume you could let your Office 365 account lapse, get all you stuff out of the cloud before this happens, and then in your Microsoft account subscribe to Office 365.

Do you know if that would require uninstalling Office 365 and reinstalling again on all my computers? I've changed a lot of default settings I'd hate to have to go back and do again.

    Honestly I don't.

I would hope that you would just "Sign In" in Office 365 to new account and show that you have a subscription. Now that is just me, MS may have seen people pulling some elaborate schemes and may require. As an example in Windows you can change versions by entering new key. It unlocks functionality and as far as I know does not require a full install of Windows.

Wish I had a definitive answer.

This article may give some insights as it talks about signing in to different accounts.
