    Remove overlay icon(x icon) for offline files in Windows 10

    We want to remove the overlay icon for offline files in Windows 10. So we want the offline files to appear without the x icon.

    We deleted the registry key for Offline Files in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers

    However the icons still remain, even after restart.

    Is there anything which we are missing, or there is no way we can change this setting.

    Icon overlays in Windows 10

    Hi,

    There are currently 15 slots allotted for icon overlays in the system image list of Windows 10. 4 of these are reserved for the system, and OneDrive uses 5, leaving six slots for use by other icon overlay handlers. If more than 15 icon overlays are registered
    in the system, the extra icon overlays aren't used. This limit of 15 overlay icons applies to Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10.

    Windows 10 desktop icons not in order

    In ccleaner, did you uncheck cleaning the icon cache... have not used in a while; however, I think that is what the option is called.

    Now, if you are setting the icons and they move after you have set the settings and not changed them... you may have the "Random Windows 10 Icon movement problem".
    Some people have this and some don't.
