  1. Old ActiveX DVR web GUI not working with Group Policy?

I have an old DVR for security cameras that I'm experimenting with. Internet Explorer 11 on its own, with compatibility mode turned on, is able to view the DVR's webpage by allowing it to run its plugin (forgot what it's called, but it prompts you to allow it to run), and ActiveX. But after I added the PC to a domain, it no longer works, it just shows an X and never prompted to allow a plugin to run.

There must be some policy in Group Policy that's in the "Not configured" state but still able to prevent the DVR's plugin or ActiveX from running.

I've tried adding it as a trusted site and tinkering with the policies for trusted sites but to no avail. Any ideas?

  2. Group policy :/

    Thanks to @topgundcp
    Update W-10 manually
Which got me piddling around with the whole group/ user policy crap
I have found to get rid of the silly lock screen at startup *Party
Did think I got rid of some of the annoying web search from the search but seems the new version does not apply to the new search box :/

Do not search the internet is enabled but does not effect the suggestions being plastered on the search although this version does not default to a Bing search page as other prior versions,
I can not figure out which is the suggestions for web search *Tongue

Coming from 7 home premium that did not have group policy I find most of this group policy stuff really a weird tour Old ActiveX DVR web GUI not working with Group Policy? :)
    Cheers.

    GROUP POLICIES IN WINDOWS 10

You can change Group Policies by opening Group Policy Editor first. You can open it by following these steps:

    • Log in an administrator account. If you are already logged in as an administrator, proceed to step 2.
    • Press Windows + R to open Run.
    • Type gpedit.msc and press Enter.

After opening Group Policy Editor, you can now make the necessary changes that you want.

Should you have more concerns, feel free to post.

    Regards.
