Windows 10: Old program no longer opens after update

I use a program for a video game. It's located inside the game folder itself and worked on early versions of Windows 10. Ever since I updated my Windows it no longer opens. I've run the incompatibility troubleshoot and tried also the incompatibility tab within the program's Properties. Nothing seems to work.


Any way to make this thing compatible with the current windows?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

1. Did you try installing the game from Windows. Old folder?

2. Did you get any error message?

I suggest you to run the program in Compatibility mode, please follow the below steps:

1) Right click on the Program

2) Click on Properties

3) Click on Compatibility tab

4) Select Run this program in compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list.
