  1. On battery power, geekbench score drops horrendously

So I was just running a basic geekbench CPU test (the one available on the free version) on my PC (Dell G7 with Intel i9 8950HK and 16GB RAM). While plugged in, the results were 1304 single core and 5042 multi core (I have 6 cores). But on battery power, they were 762 and 2890 respectively. I get that most laptops run somewhat better plugged in, but isn't this a bit too much? There is a noticeable difference in performance too.

Any reasons why this might be happening? Ways to fix?

EDIT: Just looked at Task Manager, and while plugged in, the laptop runs at 3-4 GHz (generally around 3.6), but on battery power it never goes beyond 1.8 GHz. My laptops base frequency is 2.9. Even more confused now.
