Windows 10: On Screen notification Computer Locked

Yesterday, I think I was scammed into buying a service for my computer by Customer Centric Constultant Ltd.

I got a message on my computer screen that I was locked and it happened 2 times so I called the number on the screen 855-283-9565 and I gave the person who answered access to my computer.


He told me I was infected with several bad sites on the computer over 3000 and I could see this on the screen. He then connected me to a representatative of Customer Centric Consultant and this person worked on the computer by remote for about 60 minutes cleaning up various websites which I agreed to a 5 year contract to protect my computer for $249.


That's not so much what bothers me. Have I allowed a hacker into my computer or was this a legitate IT firm that worked on my computer? Anyone else ever used this company? Googled it and they do exist in Canada. ???

No notification on lock screen

Try the following methods and check if it helps:

Method 1:

Try to turn on and off the Show notifications on the lock screen option and check.

Follow the below steps:

• Type quick actions in the search bar and click on Choose your quick actions.
• Select Lock Screen.
• Turn on or off the Show notifications on the lock screen option
  and check if the issue persists.

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 2: Perform System File Checker (SFC) scan.

Try to run a System File Checker (SFC) scan to check for any file corruption. SFC scan will scan for corrupt system files on the computer and repair them.

• Press Windows key + X, click Command Prompt (Admin).
• In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
  

sfc /scannow

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 3:

I would suggest you to create a new user account and check if it helps.

Follow these steps to check if it works:

Step 1: Open the Windows Settings menu by pressing the Windows Key and “I,” or alternatively search for Settings in the Windows search bar and click the corresponding result.

Step 2: Click Notifications & Actions in the left-hand menu. This will take you to a screen providing access to all of the settings related to notifications and the Action Center.

Step 3: Click the System icon, then select Notifications and actions from the left-hand menu.

Step 4: Look for the Notifications subheading, where you will see a number of toggles for various types of notifications. The following is a list of the settings you can toggle on this screen:

• Get notifications from apps and other senders
• Show notifications on the lock screen
• Show alarms, reminders, and incoming VoIP calls on the lock screen
• Hide notifications when duplicating my screen
• Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows

You may just turn them off the notification as you need.
