Wow! I thought it was a simple question and I appreciated the first couple of responses that answered it very succinctly. Glad I gave some people an opportunity to go off on a tangent. As someone pointed out, not everyone is glued to their computer and actively tracking a new windows rollout. Cut us some slack...

  2. You're absolutely right, which is why it was offered for an entire year.

+1,, 366 whole days to get it done. It is a shame but everyone did have more than enough time to upgrade and get it for free.

Yeah, but a whole year can sure go by quickly when you are saying to yourself, "I'm just going to do that next week, I've got plenty of time left...."

Just splitting a hair here: 367 days *Wink

(Upgrade offer ends 10 AM UTC -10 Saturday the 30th, the moment last parts of the world come to Friday midnight, and 2016 is a leap year which adds an extra day.)

My calendar has 365 days. 366 days for a leap year.

What a clever observation! My calendar BTW, as well as everyone else's has the same amount of days. Normal years and leap years.

The 367th day for free Windows 10 upgrade offer comes how and when the offer started, and how and when it ends.

    [ug][/ug]

The offer started on July 29th last year, and as shown by the official countdown, ends on Saturday 30th of July for everyone else than people in Hawaii; MS has clearly chosen to be clear and not give any room for complaints, the free upgrade offer ends when Friday 29th ends at midnight in the last part of the world still in Friday, Hawaii with its UTC -10 time zone.

It's then already Saturday midnight in Kirimati (UTC +14), 22:00 (10 PM) on Saturday evening in Wellington New Zealand (UTC -12). For me here in Germany it's noon on Saturday (UTC +2), for you in New Jersey USA 6 AM (UTC -4) on Saturday morning.

One year + 1 day for leap year + 1 day for upgrade offer actually ending on 30th for most of the world = 367 days.

  12. I think it was more a matter of, what possible disasters will I encounter when I attempt to upgrade to Windows 10.
And you are right with that in mind, people will indeed put things off until tomorrow, or the next day, or the next. *Think
