Windows 10: One Drive/ duplicates issue on my Windows 11 PC.

I recently started One Drive on my Windows 11 PC. I must have done something wrong because I ended up with Desktop shortcuts in several folders. I tried deleting the extra shortcuts to no avail. I tried moving files around, and it made things worse. The end result is now when looking at the left pane, I have a desktop icon on top, and when I try to go to properties, it takes me to Windows settings. If I expand it, I get my user profile, etc. Also, if I cut and paste anything to the desktop, I get two of the same images. I would really appreciate any help,Peggy

External drives are duplicated in File Explorer on Windows 11.

Pls try the steps (or the registry fix remove-duplicate-drives.reg to automate the task) to resolve the issue.

Appreciate your detailed return. Your added steps really helped.

Assuming I did the steps correctly, this is where I am now.

Screenshot 12 shows my CD Disc shortcut on my desktop.
Screenshot 10 shows the CD Drive shortcut listed in the “Send to” listing.
Screenshot 11 shows the “Send to” listing after the steps were taken, but the CD drive name is not listed.

So, it appears the steps did not work for me. And, I did try the steps, “If it still won’t do ……” and still no luck.

What do you think?
