Windows 10: One Drive Is Driving Me Crazy. I Do Not Want It.

Yes it will. Like you, I have no need or use for OneDrive. I don't use the Cloud for anything and probably never will. I uninstalled OneDrive. I use Documents and Pictures just like you do and they work just like Windows 7.

This might be a stupid question, but.... Why not just use Windows 7 if you are going to spend hours making Windows10 emulate Windows 7?

 

LOL... Yup.. running Win 10 to preference would be my guess..

 

Another possible answer is you can't just go out and buy a new computer with W7 anymore. I held out with W7 for quite a while before I finally gave up the fight and bought a W10 laptop this last spring. I'm used to it now and I get along with it, but there were still some things I liked better in W7.

 

Amen and that is exactly how I end up... Using w-10 as much as I did w-7

 

It's painful to go back and work on a Windows 7 machine now. It isn't about Windows 10 being a bad product...it's about users not willing to learn something new. Do people complain when they buy a new car and have to adjust to it's feel and dashboard layout?

PS> There's no rat in giving away Windows 10 to SOME people. It's in everyone's best interest to be on the same platform, from software developers to hardware manufacturers to end users. Do you have the same arguments about Apple giving away versions for free?

 

They do if the old one ran better. And W7 did.

 

It's a waste of time putting up with MS' stupid penchant for renaming/moving things and then giving up when the job is 50% done (Control Panel/Settings debacle has been a work in progress for the last 5 years).

After learning MS' pointless changes, I still can't type any additional documents, listen to extra music or watch extra videos in W10, compared to W7. *Rolleyes

The whole aim of this ridiculous exercise was to encourage people to buy Windows Phones and that has been a total failure.

IMO, saying the "W10 is better than W7" is like saying "Macs are easier to use than Windows". *Sick

They would if the manufacturer was stupid enough to put the gauges in the boot and the switches under the bonnet.

 

There is something wrong at my house. Windows 10 has run perfectly on a dozen computers on my home network.

 

If we're on here and running W10, then you can't say we were unwilling to learn something new.....already been there done that!
We have 2 W10 laptops and a W7 laptop left over from before.
Change just for the sake of change does not automatically equal improvement, and IMO W10 is proof.
